Activities  
From 2010 Hacienda Los Olivos will offer a number of retreats, courses and workshops for individuals and groups. All the courses, retreats and workshops are conceived as part of a vacational package that includes 3-4 days of organised activities + 3-4 days of holiday.

The Poetry & Spirituality of St John of the Cross through Flamenco      

Leaders: Daniel Munoz and Carmen Alvarez. Including lectures on the spirituality of the Spanish mystic by Theologians from the Granada Faculty of Theology, led spiritual exercises (meditations in the Mount of Olives quiet garden), a visit to Cueva de La Luz Flamenco Studio, and live flamenco concerts in candlelight by Carmen Alvarez.

A journey through 500 years of Andalusian religious art Including guided tours of Christian sites (churches/monasteries) by art history experts, visits to local artist workshops in Granada and the chance to create an image of Christ with artist and sculptor Daphne Tenenberg.

The Art of Sacred Spaces

This course is aimed at creative people who wish to explore the use of visual art, music, etc in the creation of sacred spaces that will help people encounter God. It will include visits to special sites in the area (Nerja Caves & Sacromonte Abbey), as well as the creation of both indoor and outdoor sacred spaces at the Hacienda.

Theological Conversations Weeks      

Led by renown theologians and Christian authors             

An opportunity to spend three days in conversation with some of the most inspiring and challenging contemporary Christian theologians and authors, around the dinner table, walking on the mountains, by the pool, visiting local churches and other historic buildings, or just chilling on the terrace over a glass of wine. The other 3-4 days are free time to relax and enjoy the area.

Cooking Holidays                                                               Leader: Daniel Munoz

The perfect holiday for those who enjoy the fun  of shopping in local  markets, wine tasting in local bodegas (wineries), visiting olive oil mills, learning to cook Spanish meals and eating together by the pool (in the Summer) or by the fire (in the winter). Cooking holidays  will be held twice a year (in July and October) for groups of up to 10 people. The aim is to introduce you to the flavours of Spanish and Andalusian cuisine.  These holiday packages include 4 day course + 3 day break in the Hacienda. Beginners and intermediate levels.

Photography Holidays                                                    Leader: Guy Wynter

In 2010 we will run two photography holidays:  

The Al Andalus Experience, capturing Christian and Muslim art and architecture in the Granada area, including photographic tours of the magnificent Alhambra Palace, Chapel Royal, and the Carthusian Monastery in Granada city, as well as visits to the white morish mounting villages of the Alpujarras (September 2010) ; and   Sea and Sierras, including photographic guided walks in the impressive Sierra Nevada National Park, the Cantarrijan Coastal Cliffs (in the Nerja Protected Area) and sunsets on Salobrena beach. Both these holiday packages include 4 day course + 3 day break in the Hacienda. Beginners and intermediate levels.
